This stateroom features classic, Old Havana decor and is perfect for cruisers looking to hang out and chat by the pool. The first one on everyone's list is the Carnival Mardi Gras roller coaster Bolt, the first roller coaster at sea -- a genuine thrill ride you need to try at least once. And then there's the Atrium, located on the side of the ship instead of the center, a placement that allows the space to have three-story sea views during the day and become a top-notch entertainment space at night. Just as with every Carnival ship, Mardi Gras is dedicated to an incredibly fun vacation, centered around guest comfort and enjoyment. Our cruise consultants are the best in the industry at matching our clients with the perfect stateroom accomodation for their cruise - and Mardi Gras is no different!
LOFT 19
This innovative roller coaster recently won a “Best of What’s New” engineering award granted by Popular Science magazine. While sailing on Mardi Gras in late October, I asked executives, journalists, crew members, and dozens of guests to name one or two “don’t miss” experiences on board. Empress of Canada offered regularly scheduled Transatlantic crossings between the UK and Quebec Canada (Liverpool - Montreal). After 121 Transatlantic crossings (RepositionCruises.com) and 82 Canadian cruises, Empress of Canada arrived in Liverpool on November 23, 1971, with which the regular Liverpool-Canada service was terminated. On December 17 (1971) the liner was laid up in Port Tilbury-London. The vessel's keel-laying (aka "coin ceremony") ceremony was held on June 18, 2019, with which officially started ship's construction at Meyer Werft's Turku Shipyard in Finland.
All about the Carnival Mardi Gras
For an even finer dining experience, take your date to the specialty steakhouse, (a nominal fee is charged.) Here you’ll enjoy mouthwatering gourmet cuisine. Plus, get oven-baked pizzas and calzones, salads, soft-serve ice cream, and frozen yogurt whenever the cravings strike. Outside on the sunny deck 16, beside the underrated, affordable a la carte Seafood Shack is a brand new destination for quick and complimentary bites, called Street Eats. A rotating menu at three separate food cart-style spots give guests new foods to try for free every day.
Dine at Chef’s Table
If you're wondering where the pool and whirlpool are, we're so alike, you and us... And that's why we're sure you're gonna love The Watering Hole, a poolside bar we're building for aficionados of backyard-style relaxation. And for military folks — or folks who just want to raise a glass to them — please report to Heroes Tribute™ Lounge for great service. We know you guys like soft serve too, so we're throwing in a Swirls™ location — one of two!
Port Canaveral
Piazza Panini is located within the La Piazza area, and a counter-service sandwich shop is open until 10 p.m., nightly. Guy’s Burger Joint on Deck 17 is Fieri’s first Carnival Cruise Line dining venue, and it’s as popular as ever on Mardi Gras. Located in the heart of the French Quarter on Deck 6, Emeril’s Bistro 1396 features the authentic New Orleans flavors of Emeril’s hometown. Located in the Ultimate Playground zone, Carnival Mardi Gras’ 600-foot ropes course is the longest in Carnival’s fleet. As of March 2024, BOLT is priced at $15 per person for a two-lap ride.
Carnival Excel Presidential Suites
Plop down in a spacious deck chair by the pool and enjoy the view, or enjoy some adult-only time in the Serenity relaxation area, complete with whirlpool and chair-side service. Prepaid gratuities are standard across all non-luxury cruises (where tips are usually included in the rate), including Mardi Gras. Casual dress is standard during the day on the Carnival Mardi Gras. Most restaurants, save for the buffet and casual quick bite destinations, expect guests to swap out their flip flops, tank tops, and hats at dinnertime. Billed as a Chinese and Mexican Mashup, the restaurant’s sweet & sour shrimp with hakka noodles and green beans is not to be missed. Located one deck above, Loft 19 is yet another first for a Carnival cruise ship, and it’s a quiet space designed for privacy and relaxing.

At $119 per person (as of March 2024), this small group multi-course dining experience is a splurge – but it’s a VIP experience for just 14 guests hosted by the Master Executive Chef. The atrium’s huge 3,000 square-foot glass panels built into the ship’s side provide guests with beautiful sea views. It’s a wonderful place to relax, listen to live music, or participate in games and contests.
Carnival Mardi Gras's Deck Plans Feature Fun Themed Sections
Of those options, 14 are complementary, or included with your cruise fare. Some of those options are a set price and some have a la cart menu pricing. 67% of the dining options are included which means if you're watching your budget, you won't feel like you're missing out by not going to a lot of extra fee dining places. The Carnival crew has a stellar reputation as being some of the best at sea.

Classes are held each day (depending on demand) – sometimes two or three per day – for groups of 18 or less. The christening ceremony was held on October 23, 2021, at Port Canaveral. Like most large-sized newbuilds, the new Carnival ship Mardi Gras is LNG-powered, with 4x Caterpillar Marine LNG engines (model MaK 16M-46DF) generating combined output 57,2 MW.
Balcony staterooms were designed for maximum sea breeze and the most stunning views, so look to a balcony if you’re looking to cruise with a view aboard Mardi Gras. A Junior Balcony stateroom features the same size balcony as standard Balcony rooms, just with a little less interior space. On a Carnival cruise your vacation starts in the atrium, and on Mardi Gras® that's in the Grand Central zone.
