SiriusXM on Google Nest devices includes live channels and Xtra channels. With Google Nest smart speakers and display devices, you can simply ask the Google Assistant to play your favorite SiriusXM channels. With devices like Chromecast, you can play music from your phone, laptop, or tablet straight to your TV.
When you have music or TV sound playing, this gives your Echo a better chance of hearing the “Alexa” wake word and your voice commands. So I just got a new receiver (RX-V6A), got MusicCast set up on it, linked my account to google home, the speakers/zones all show up and are assigned to rooms. I was even able to set my patio google home to have the zone 2 for the receiver as it's default music speaker , but it just won't play to it. TVs and media consoles have Google Assistant and Chromecast built-in, so SiriusXM listeners with streaming-included plans can play their favorite content—including video—right from the app. Every day, more and more convenience-based products are being introduced.
Activity and Settings
See your favorite devices, automations, and actions all in one place. Firmware updates will also add eARC functionality to 23 of its industry-leading AV receivers. Finally updated my home theater setup with a new TV and receiver (Yamaha RX-V4A), and I was really excited about the prospect of using my Yamaha as an extension of my Google Home speaker setup. My mate has done something similar with Sonos but I am happy with Yamaha gear and like the idea of my existing bluetooth speakers playing nicely with the system. If you get a Chromecast audio you can make that an input on your am and make a group with other Chromecast speakers.

Schedule your vacuum to clean in the morning. Review events in your timeline easily and efficiently. Play SiriusXM on Your Google Devices
I don’t think it will power on the receiver and that’s a real shame, but works pretty well for me. Totally agree about the seemingly unnecessary amount of words required from both me and GH. It’s like MusicCast and aren’t on speaking terms and GH is mediating an argument. Yamaha must advertise itself as a Chromecast device, so that a simple command like "Play on Yamaha" just works. See FAQs for a list of MusicCast Smart Home common commands and MusicCast custom skills. Goes beyond the basics, giving you enhanced control of unique MusicCast functions with custom commands.
Your experience with audio can be the same. With Android Fast Pair for Matter, your phone can automatically detect Matter devices. So setting up new devices and connecting them to your network is easier than ever. Matter devices work with your Google Home and other Matter-enabled devices, making it easier to build a smart home that helps with any need. The new Favorites section makes it easier to access the things you care about most.
Google Home makes it seamless.
I confirm, no way to play Spotify on musiccast via Google assistant. Go to google home and tap on +, then setup a device and then Works with google. With Google Home, your Nest and Matter devices work together reliably to help with your household needs.

Its supposed to support music cast but not for me. Enjoy the hands-free convenience of streaming music, adjusting volume and more with simple voice commands using Google Assistant. See FAQs for a list of MusicCast Actions.

Yeeez i thought it could find the system as with chromecast unit. I have 3 chromecast audios scattered around including one on my Yahama (sales tax on it was $27 btw). I agree that the embedded chromecasts are not as desirable with their lack of upgrading but I also can’t control input selection or zones with a cc either.

Additionally, a recent update to the Yamaha MusicCast app has seen over 70 Yamaha home audio products gain support for Actions on Google, enabling voice control via the Google Assistant. Choose what you want to listen to, where and how with MusicCast. MusicCast is a streaming and multi-room audio system built into many Yamaha products, including sound bars, wireless speakers, AV receivers and more. The MusicCast app lets you easily control them all. On-demand content such as podcasts and SiriusXM video.
Connect an audio cable between Echo Dot and an analog input on a MusicCast device. The Echo connects the speaker and Alexa and tells you if the connection is successful. Now you should the device listed within the devices list and it should work fine.
Just get a Chromecast Audio and connect it to the Receiver, will save you the headache. Yeah I remember having the same realization with my first setup. They finally add Google assistant but you still cant cast to the AVR nor can you add it to a cast audio group.
I was able to connect MusicCast to and can control the Yamaha with Google Home. However, it doesn't show up as a speaker option to select when I'm playing music through my other Google Home devices. I also can't seem to add it to a speaker group. Yamaha just updated their MusicCast app and added GH and Siri shortcuts. I can now control my 2+ year old RX-A660 receiver with “ask MusicCast to set input to Chromecast” or “...turn down the volume in the Living Room”, etc.
To find your Wi-Fi compatible devices, the MusicCast app needs to access this Android device's location info. This app doesn’t collect your location using GPS. 2.Open the app and enter your SiriusXM streaming credentials. Google Home lets you see live feeds of your Nest cameras and doorbell from your browser, all in one view.
