Story by
Observing a group of children in Halloween costumes nearby, he realizes he doesn't have much time, and approaches his house. One day, when Chowder's basketball accidentally flew into Nebbercracker's lawn and prompts DJ to bring it back, Nebbercracker ambushes and storms toward him. DJ tries to calm him down, but this does not change Nebbercracker's mind to scare him further. Nebbercracker proceeds by lifting him upwards and unleashing several tantrums on his face.
Death Date
Chowder managed to bring the house down into the pit where it crumbled to pieces. Thinking that they won, they cheered until the house starts to reconstruct itself by making it a deformed monstrosity. DJ and Jenny then climb to the top of a crane while Chowder distracts once was once Nebbercracker's house and the excavator is eaten.
Friends / Allies
After a chase to a construction site, where Chowder engages the house with an excavator, DJ swings on a crane and throws a dynamite down the chimney, blowing up the house. He then gets a phone call, but when he picks up, he only hears a creepy groaning sound. After hanging up only to get the same phone call, DJ, believing it to be a prank, decides to give the mystery caller a taste of their own medicine; he then finds out that the call is coming from Nebbercracker's house.
Running Time:
The house wakes and is disturbed when it finds Chowder and DJ on its property. The carpet comes out to get Chowder and DJ, but the boys scared by the house's demonic appearance, run into DJ's house in fear. Whilst managing to calm the house down, Nebbercracker laments over the fact that he has failed to keep his wife's wrath from hurting others and turning her into what she is now a true monster. This saddens the house and provides Nebbercracker an opportunity to end his wife's suffering using a stick of dynamite. The house, however, does not take this well and grabs Nebbercracker to eat him for this apparent betrayal before DJ, Chowder, and Jenny arrive just in time with an excavator, which proves effective against the house. As the house fights with Chowder, who is controlling the vehicle, DJ is given the dynamite and is told to destroy the house for good.

Unfortunately, Officer Landers and Officer Lister interfere, and upon seeing objects that they used to render the house asleep, they wrongfully arrest the kids. Enraged, the house breaks free from its foundation and chases the group to a construction site. Nebbercracker attempts to distract the house so he can throw a dynamite in, but the house notices and attempts to eat him. But Chowder fights the house off with an excavator, causing it to fall into a pit. DJ is given the dynamite, and he and Jenny climb to the top of a crane while Chowder distracts the house.
In its final form, the house resembles a porcupine made of timber boards, with the shattered yet same windows and a triangular mouth with a longer flange chimney set in the center of its head. Its left tree arm is placed at the end of its tail and its right arm(still intact) is smaller and thinner. Three teens discover that their neighbor's house is really a living, breathing, scary monster. Though still furious, the house calmed down, and they had a brief conversation. Here, the house expresses a degree of remorse over the carnage that it has done, and Nebbercracker said that he has done the best for it. But now, her suffering must be over as he reveals the dynamite to blow up the house that has changed her.
Video game
Plummeting into the basement, they find a huge collection of toys that Nebbercracker confiscated from children, and Constance’s tomb. The house becomes aware of their presence, and tries to eat them, but they attack the uvula, causing the house to spit them out. The trio seeks advice from Reginald "Skull" Skulinski, a strange video game addict working in a pizza parlor who is claimed to be an expert on the supernatural. They learn that the house is a "Domus Mactabilis" (Latin for "Deadly Home") a monstrous being created when a human soul (vengeful) merges with a structure.
They make a plan to find the heart and put out the fire while Chowder asks if there are more options. Which DJ agrees; wait and do nothing until the house finds out where they are and it will eat them, Chowder disagreed with that idea and goes on with the plan to find the heart and put the fire out. DJ finds binoculars on the wall near a small hatch to the door and he realizes that Nebbercracker has been watching him the whole time while he was trying to get Chowder's ball back. Jenny then shows DJ a set of photos with Nebbercracker and his late wife, then DJ says to Jenny that Nebbercracker used to have a wife, but he fattened her up and ate her, much to Jenny's disgust.
DJ first appeared witnessing Mr. Nebbercracker confiscating a little girl's tricycle, much to Mrs. Walters' chagrin. Mr. and Mrs. Walters inform DJ that they will leave town for the weekend for a dentist's convention and have called Zee to take care of him in their stead. Chowder comes to hang out with him and asks if DJ is going trick or treating, but DJ says that he is not, as he thinks he has gotten too grown up, much to Chowder's shock. As DJ scored two goals in the basketball hoop, Chowder tries to make a score, but the ball bounces off the metal bar and hits Chowder in the head. To his annoyance, however, Chowder is not hurt at all, and says that he is acting like a dork. Dustin James "DJ" Walterson is the titular main protagonist of Sony Animation’s first full-length animated feature film, Monster House.

When DJ and Jenny reach the crane's arm, DJ was very scared to do it, Jenny tells him that he can and kisses him, giving him the confidence to do so. The trio sees Nebbercracker having the final touch with Constance's spirit before she fades away. After taking possession of the house, Constance's physical appearance is shaped like a head; the hair is made of black trapezoid roof tiles with the chimney placed on the right side where the heart is, although the location of the furnace is yet unknown.
